Border Run

Yesterday, I took a little ride, I went by Lake George: The Fiat is running great: I went across the Champlain Bridge: and wound up in Burlington, VT: I did the Island line trail: on which I wound up getting lost, but did find the Highlight - the two mile causeway onto the Lake: and they have a bike ferry. It was $8, so I passed. I cam back and found a parking ticket on my little green machine. I thought there would be free parking downtown on Saturday. wrong. They were having a festival, and I was told it would be Ok to Park on the grass. wrong again. I had a very good lunch at the Shanty(maple salmon), and set off for my next stop: Rouses Point is right on the Border. New York is on my left, and Quebec is on my right here: Back in the usa:

The Pilgrimage

Well, It fits: so I headed out to Fort Hunter and then on to Canajoharie. Here's a neat church in Fultonville: Here's the trail. It's an old railroad with a crushed gravel surface: you parallel the Mohawk: and ride through some Amish areas: I decided to turn around in Sprakers: and then headed over to the National Shrine of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha: Kateri was a Mohawk native American who converted to Catholicism and was beatified by Pope benedict XVI. The shrine itself dates from the 1780's and is worth a visit. I guess the next time I'm out that way, I'll have to if I can make up the hill to the National Shrine of the North American Martyrs

memphis-O'hare-Albany

Well, it was time go back to work: Memphis Airport: not quite what it was: we're now number 2 on cargo airports: But Southwest will fly to the rescue, right: That looks better: FedEx is always busy: You, in the DC-9: Pull over! I flew to O'Hare on Trans States/ United Express: I had supper: and ambled about: I always think this should be at Mdw. It looks too much like a Southwest livery: Commander O'Hare's Plane: and soon it was off to Albany on Mesa with the 'Classic' paint:

Back in the Air

Well, I went to Memphis again. This time I had a 5:45am flight, so I had breakfast at the airport: Look, it's Spumoni's Brother: American usually doesn't come here. This was a diversion: Out on the Tarmac: and over the Catskills: and then New York City: switch planes in Newark: A Giant stadium: and then land in Memphis: Things are smaller in Texas: we went to the Civil Rights museum: and Mud Island: where I visited Cape Girardeau: and then paid my Respects to the King(59 years to the Date of his first concert at the Shell):
